STORY 1: Second Chance Heart
Annie needs a cure.
Jay needs a life.
This year on Christmas, a young girl may bring them both a miracle.
Annie Cordell’s life is filled with heartache…literally. She spends her days caring for her six-year old daughter, Georgia, and her nights reading research papers, hoping to find a cure. A chance encounter with a handsome pediatric cardiologist just a few days before Christmas may offer Annie and Georgia the second chance they deserve.
Dr. Jay Holt is a busy surgeon who’s passionate about his work. Saving children has been his life’s mission. But it leaves little time for socializing. Could one rare outing in the park give Jay his first chance at love?
STORY 2: Dance with Me
Gemma needs money.
Jack needs help.
This year on Valentine’s Day, one dance might bring them both a miracle.
Gemma Reynolds is pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse practitioner. But with one semester left in graduate school, the bills are piling up and she can’t pay her tuition. The scholarship she’s counted on from her employer may soon be gone.
This year the hospital where Gemma works is sponsoring a bachelorette Valentine’s Day auction, where the highest bidder wins one dance. Begrudgingly, Gemma agrees to step on the auction block in hopes of replenishing the scholarship fund. With only a few women up for grabs, it will be a miracle if the hospital reaches its goal.
Jack Holt is a busy man, crushed by the obligations of running his family’s company. He has little time for anything other than work. But when it comes to his family, he can’t say no. Helping them in their time of need isn’t a question, but finding a solution this time may be impossible. Until an unlikely stranger walks through the door. If she says yes, it will be a miracle.
STORY 3: Fall for You
Joslyn needs a fresh start.
Adam needs a getaway.
This year at Thanksgiving, a feisty old woman may bring them both a miracle.
After the loss of her husband in the war three years ago, Joslyn Alexander is unable to relinquish the ghosts that keep her from truly living again. Instead, she’s immersed herself in the care of her aging great-aunt. But as Aunt Marion’s Alzheimer’s progresses, Joslyn and her brothers must face the reality that she alone can no longer care for her. As the siblings seek a long-term care facility, Joslyn realizes that life goes on, even in the face of tragedy and loss.
Adam Turner is worn out. After taking over as director of the failing memory care facility a year ago, he’s turned the place into a thriving community for its residents. Now, all he wants is a few days off. But as he watches his Thanksgiving plans disappear in an unexpected winter storm, he’s left wondering how much more he can handle—until an unlikely invitation from a heartbroken woman brings him the respite he needs.
This year, all the characters from A Miracle Short Story Series come together for Thanksgiving in an unusual place. As Aunt Marion regales their Thanksgiving guests with stories of love and loss, Joslyn and Adam realize there’s more to give thanks for this year than they ever imagined. Through grief and tragedy, there is hope.
