In Central Texas we’ve been in a drought for years, so when it rains, we love it, for a multitude of reasons. Rainy days allow you to catch up on chores you’ve neglected. I was able to hang up two loads of laundry that have been draped over my chair for a week. Or, you can take it easy and veg on the couch, like my husband did all day.
It’s well into the early evening now and has been raining all day. For that, Texas is happy. But for my poor friends who had an OUTDOOR wedding scheduled this afternoon, the weather was definitely not welcomed. They had spent so much time planning this wedding, nothing would stop them from having the perfect day. They looked for months before finding the perfect dress at www.winniecouture.com/stores/wedding-dresses-houston-tx/. People have a preconception that every small detail of their wedding must be perfect. However, I find it’s the little things that go ‘wrong’ on the day that truly makes a wedding special. We haven’t gathered to celebrate perfect hair being untouched by the rain or our formal shoes remaining immaculately clean at the end of a night of partying. We are gathered to celebrate the love of two people who can’t wait to spend the rest of their lives together. Anyway, they’re the type of people who dance in the rain though and I’m sure happiness showered down on them today. You see, their story is historic. Two woman who have been committed and in love for years were able to be legally bonded in holy matrimony, afforded all the rights my husband and I have had for years. What a blessing.
Wherever you are today, whatever you find yourself doing, I hope it rains buckets full of blessings on you.
