My hubby’s been off of “work” for the last five days and yesterday he was piddling around the house, bored (he’s ADHD). I felt bad and asked him, “Do you want me to take off this afternoon from writing and spend some time with you?” I hadn’t even realized how long I’d been cooped up in my office trying to finish up the last minute edits to my book in order to release in September.
It was nice to take a break and spend time with him, especially since he went back to “work” early this morning. But to make up the time I had to stay up late last night. Sacrifice? No. I loved spending time with him AND I loved staying up late to work on my book.
While technically I guess it’s “work,” it sure doesn’t feel like it. I’ve had jobs before where I “worked” and I can honestly say now that publishing my book is all about fun. Lots of hours and dedication, but not “work.”
I hope everyone has the chance to do what they love one day. They say, love what you do and you’ll never “work” a day in your life. For me, that dream is true. Take a chance. Don’t be afraid to try. Well, you can be afraid, that’s normajust don’t let it stop you from trying!
